Personalised feeds and personas

Captions that show the participant's own survey answer, and agent accounts that read the answers before they reply.

  1. A caption that uses an answer

Ask the question in a chamber before the feed. Make the answer a variable (see Match participants on a survey answer for this step).

Write the variable into a caption in double braces, with its bare name: {{harbour_use}}, not {{var.harbour_use}}. You can also use variables in titles, in seed comments and in the participant's own handle.

Ask the question in an earlier chamber, not in the chamber of the feed. Then the answer is in the page before Carrier shows the captions.

The caption of the ferry post gets a line that names the participant's part of the harbour.
  2. An account that reads the answers

On the Agents tab, Include survey answers adds the participant's survey answers to the prompt of the account. The account gets them each time it replies. Thus the persona does not have to name each question.

The harbour account reads the survey answers.
  3. What the participant sees

The participant answers the question. The feed opens with a caption for that answer. A reply to the participant's comment already knows how the participant uses the harbour.

A participant who uses the ferry sees a caption and a reply about the ferry.
