Cards in the chat: triggers and endings

When an embedded card appears, how it looks, what it does when it is complete, and how one card follows another.

  1. When it appears, and how it sits in the chat

Start Trigger sets when a card appears. The options are:

    • At once.
    • After a number of seconds.
    • After a number of messages.
    • After the previous card.

The message count includes only the messages from others, people and bots. It does not include the participant's own messages. Here, a scripted Moderator sends three messages.

Pin to top while active keeps the card at the top of the chat until the participant answers it. When Data Sharing is real time, a poll shows the results while people answer.

The poll waits for three messages, stays at the top and shows the results live.
  2. One card after another, and what happens when one is done

After the previous card connects cards in a sequence. Here, this card appears two seconds after the participant answers the poll.

Completion Behavior sets what a complete card does:

    • Dismiss removes the card.
    • Lock keeps the card visible, but the participant cannot answer it again.
    • Minimize collapses the card.
    • End chat segment ends the full chat.

If another card follows a card, Carrier keeps the first card in the chat, locked and collapsed. Its own Completion Behavior has no effect.

How sure are you? appears two seconds after the poll and collapses when answered.
  3. What the participant sees

The Moderator sends messages. After its third message, the poll moves to the top of the chat. When the participant answers it, the poll collapses and the confidence card appears. When both cards are complete, the chat ends.

The poll after three messages, then the confidence card, then the end of the chat.
